Happy New Year everyone! We are so excited for 2022! The New Year is all about fresh starts and that feels great, doesn’t it? We don’t want to sound cliche, but New Year, New You! What a perfect time to consider some of the cosmetic enhancements you’ve been wondering about!
We always tend to get a lot of questions about Botox, and thought it was the perfect time to shed some light on this injectable! In this blog post, we are also going to be talking about TNS Advanced+, a serum by SkinMedica that can address saggy skin, and visible coarse wrinkles on your face.
We see clients in our med spa that have questions about Botox and wonder if it is right for them. Like with any injectable, patients may fear that if they get Botox, they won’t have natural-looking results. This is something we hear a lot of! As we have mentioned before, you can feel confident in knowing that we have extensive training here in our South Carolina Med Spa as we take pride in achieving natural-looking results. It’s no secret that we combine intensive training and years of experience with innovative technology.
So, if you’re unhappy with the fine lines and wrinkles that have appeared on your face as you continue to age, keep reading! Perhaps you’ve tried every cream and “beauty potion” out there with no real results, so you’re looking for a better solution. If so, you’re going to enjoy learning about Botox! This treatment is convenient, offers a fast recovery and fast results!
It’s true, fine lines and wrinkles can make you appear much older than you are or feel. They can even possibly make you look exhausted or mad! No one wants that!
You may be wondering what is in Botox that makes it work. Here is the deal: BOTOX® Cosmetic contains botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin is a protein that can temporarily immobilize facial muscles. Think about when you contract the muscles in your face, and how that could cause lines and wrinkles to develop over time. Basically, Botox is going to “freeze” or “immobilize” those muscles temporarily. Some clients might worry that “immobilized muscles” sounds a little dangerous, but rest assured Botox is a safe and effective treatment. In fact, according to research published by JAMA Dermatology, 99% of patients experience no negative side effects.
Let’s dive a little deeper into how Botox immobilizes the muscles. Basically what happens is, the injectable blocks the signal from the nerves to the muscles. Since the injected muscle can no longer tighten completely, the wrinkles in the area relax. Yes, they just relax! This gives a more youthful and softer look.
Fun fact, Botox was approved by the FDA in the late 1980s! It is used to treat a large range of medical concerns, as well as the cosmetic effects of aging. When it comes to cosmetics, Botulinum Toxin is commonly used to address:
This is a super common question we get when it comes to Botox, or any injectable really! If you’re scared of needles, don’t worry because we use very small needles to inject Botox. Most clients say they notice little to no discomfort during the procedure.
This is a great question! We tell our clients that you shouldn’t lay down for at least 4 hours after the procedure or rub the treated area. Putting too much pressure on the area can affect your results and we don’t want that! So, just leave it be!
As for recovery, there really isn’t much to recover from. It’s a very quick procedure, and you can return to work and other normal daily activities immediately following the procedure. However, we do recommend that you avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after your Botox injections.
You probably have many questions about what type of results you can expect. We will go over all of this when you come in! However, we can give you a bit of an idea in this post. For initial results, most clients will notice a visible difference in the first 7 to 10 days. As for full effects, it may take up to two weeks before your final results are visible.
Yes, Botox is absolutely a temporary solution. Results typically last up to three-four months on average. In fact, regular treatment is required to maintain results. When you come in for a consultation, we will go over all your questions about results, as well as your goals so you know what to expect.
Botox is a great solution for wrinkles, frown lines, and other signs of aging. There are steps you can take after you receive Botox, that can help you get the most out of your investment! We recommend you:
Regular maintenance treatments can also help extend the life of your results. How? Because, over time, BOTOX® Cosmetic can start to train the targeted muscles, helping them respond more effectively to the botulinum toxin. We have over 4 convenient locations of our med spa, making it easy for you to get maintenance treatments!
We will go over each of your concerns, questions and goals before we do any procedure. You will first need to meet with one of our medical practitioners for a consultation to determine the areas you would like to target. Receiving Botox is a quick procedure. One of our highly trained medical practitioners will inject the solution into the appropriate muscles using a very thin needle. It’s really pretty quick!
The cost will range depending on what your goals are. Obviously, treating a single area of the face is going to cost less than treating several areas. With that being said, total cost is really going to depend on the extent of treatment you’re wanting. For best results, full correction is always recommended since our facials muscles tend to rely on each other. At our South Carolina Med Spa, Back to 30, we make budgeting for Botox really easy by offering in-house financing plans and CareCredit. We have designed these plans to put the cosmetic enhancements you want within your reach, and your budget! We will be happy to explain all these options during your consultation! Be sure to give us a call or book your consultation online.
