by backto30

It’s July and Summer is in full gear! This month, we are going to be discussing dermal fillers, Ultherapy and the Thread Lift. We offer all of these popular treatments at our South Carolina Med Spa, Back to 30. If you’ve ever wondered about any of these non-invasive treatments that can help you achieve a younger look, you’re going to enjoy this blog post!

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Let’s start with Dermal fillers. Dermal fillers treat lines and loss of volume. The reason Dermal fillers are loved by our clients is because they are a safe and effective way to restore volume in your face. They are also used to fill lines without expensive and invasive surgeries. You’re probably wondering, how do dermal fillers work anyway? What are you injecting into my skin?

That’s a great question! Most Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, also referred to as HA. This hyaluronic acid is comparable to a certain protein that occurs in the body naturally. Once injected, the hyaluronic acid will bind to the water in your skin and surrounding collagen not only add volume to the face, but also to fill lines.

We love Dermal fillers because they can be used on multiple areas of your face. Fillers provide a natural, younger-looking appearance without expensive, invasive surgeries. This treatment works by boosting your skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid. If you want to revitalize your skin, add volume, or instantly diminish the look of lines for a softer look, we think you will love filler.

If you’re wondering if you’re a good candidate for Dermal fillers, we recommend you coming into one of our 5 South Carolina locations for a complimentary consultation. We can go over your skin concerns and goals, and let you know if we think you’re a candidate.

Usually, good candidates for Dermal fillers are clients who are seeking to correct issues such as fine lines around their mouth, loss of volume in their cheeks or thin lips. Another reason to consider Dermal fillers is if you’re suffering from nasolabial or marionette lines. These lines do more than just make you look older. In fact, they can change how you look when you have a resting facial expression.

What about Dermal Filler Results?

So, you’ve decided you’re ready to try fillers! You’re probably wondering what kind of results you can expect. Whether you’re looking to soften fine lines, tighten saggy skin, or plump lost facial volume or thin lips… you can expect to see results almost immediately. Now, everyone is different so keep in mind that individual results can and will vary. Depending on which filler you go with, the length of time your results last will also vary. Don’t worry, we will go over all of this information with you during your consultation. That way, you will have a clear understanding of what type of results you can expect with the filler you choose.

What Kind of Fillers Do You Offer?

We offer several different types of fillers in our med spa, Back to 30. Depending on your individual concerns and goals, will help us determine which filler is right for you. We offer the following fillers:

  • JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC
  • JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC
  • JUVÉDERM® Voluma® XC
  • JUVÉDERM® Volbella
  • JUVÉDERM® Vollure

If you aren’t familiar with these product names, that’s okay! JUVEDERM XC, Ultra and Ultra Plus are typically used to fill moderate to severe wrinkles and folds that occur around the mouth. They can also be used to add volume to the cheeks and plump up thin lips. Additionally, we are also able to sculpt the jawline with these products.

One interesting note to point out is that JUVEDERM Voluma XC is the only filler that has been approved by the FDA to correct age-related volume loss in the cheeks, cheek bones and the chin. The results of this filler can last up to 2 years!

What is Ultherapy?

Next up on our list for this discussion, Ultherapy! This treatment uses Ultrasound technology to lift and tighten your skin. In fact, Ultherapy is the only FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure that lifts the face, neck, chin, and brow. It also improves lines and wrinkles on the upper chest. The exciting skin rejuvenation treatment is used to tighten and lift the skin from the inside out!

How does Ultherapy work? Ultherapy uses ultrasound therapy to go deeper than other non-invasive treatments to boost collagen stimulation. This technology involves traditional ultrasound imaging, so that our medical practitioner can actually see the layers of tissue they are treating! No guessing here! How exciting is that? This is so beneficial because it ensures that the treatment energy is being delivered to where it will benefit you most. The ultrasound technology is used to generate a thermal effect under the skin, which then jump-starts your body’s own process to create fresh and new collagen.

What makes Ultherapy different from lasers, surgery, radio-frequency or other technologies? This non-surgical treatment will bypass the skin with ultrasound energy and focused imaging. Having the ability to see these tissues through the imaging, it can target the right amount, at the right depths and the right temperature.

What about Ultherapy Results?

You’re going to love the results of Ultherapy. We can treat multiple areas, get results without surgery, and boost your confidence. Results appear gradually over 2-3 months and improvement will continue up to 6 months after treatment. Another good thing to note is that this leading treatment lifts and tightens the skin, with some clients achieving results superior to a surgical facelift! Another thing that clients tend to love about Ultherapy is that there is no downtime to worry about, and the results are long-lasting.

Who is a Candidate for Ultherapy?

When you come in for your consultation, we will go over your concerns and see if you’re a candidate for Ultherapy. Typically, Ultherapy is a great choice for those that have concerns with loose skin under the chin and neck, lines or wrinkles on face and chest, and general skin laxity. To date, over 1 million Ultherapy treatments have been performed throughout the world! As you can see, this is a highly loved treatment!

What is a Thread Lift?

Now onto our 3rd and final topic of this blog post, Thread Lifts! A Thread Lift is a procedure that utilizes synthetic, absorbable sutures made up of a biodegradable polymer cause polydiozanone, also referred to as PDO. These sutures are injected as strands (picture a thread!) into the treatment area using needles. The threads are then slowly absorbed by the body. They stimulate collagen production to lift the tissues.

At Back to 30, we work with NovaThreads. NovaThreads are FDA-cleared to offer superior results. Many of our clients opt for a Thread Lift because they do not want to go through invasive surgery. We love threads because it provides a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance after just one quick procedure.

Threads are a great noninvasive alternative to getting a cosmetic facelift. There are no cuts or incisions to worry about! Yay! When you come in for your treatment, the NovaThreads needles will already be pre-loaded with PDO threads. We will then carefully inject them into the treatment area.
